Eligibility Requirements

Must be between 5-14 years of age as of August 1st. Please click here for the birthday checker.
Participant must have a 70%/2.0 grade point average from the previous school year
Those not meeting the scholastic requirement may submit a Scholastic Eligibility Form, a progress report system used to monitor the participants grades throughout the season.

Welcome!

Watchung Hills Pop Warner Cheer is a nationally awarded cheer program that competes in the Central Jersey/Eastern Region. Comprised of student athletes ranging in ages from 5-14 from Warren and surrounding towns, we have a team for everyone, inclusive of all abilities.

We are proud to be offering competitive teams for cheerleaders in grades 3 to 8. Our youngest athletes (grades K-2) participate in our exhibition teams. They learn the fundamentals of cheerleading as well as get the opportunity to perform a routine at our local competition.

Cheer Team Information:

Exhibition Teams (Grades K-2):
- Practices start on August 18, 2025
- 2 practices per week- attendance is mandatory
- Cheer at one football game per weekend (home and away)-attendance is mandatory
- Participate in our annual Pep Rally and Warrior Night Each cheerleader is required to purchase cheer sneakers as well as our mandatory
practice outfit(s).

Competitive Teams (Grades 3-8):
- Practices start on August 4, 2025
- 3 practices per week-attendance is mandatory
- Cheer at one football game per weekend (home and away)-attendance is mandatory - Participate in our annual Pep Rally and Warrior Night
- Participate in our Showcase
Each cheerleader is required to purchase cheer sneakers as well as our mandatory practice outfits.

Your athlete’s coach will reach out to you after your registration is complete, to provide additional information including important dates and times.

Registration:
- If your cheerleader is entering Kindergarten or 1st Grade this September, please register for Tiny Mite Flag BLUE Cheer.
- If your cheerleader is entering 2nd Grade this September, please register for Tiny Mite Flag GOLD Cheer
- If your cheerleader is entering 3rd Grade this September, please register for Mitey Mite Cheer
- If your cheerleader is entering 4th or 5th Grade this September, please register for Junior Pee Wee Cheer
- If your cheerleader is entering 5th , 6th , or 7th Grade this September, please register for Pee Wee Cheer. Please note this team will also learn a second routine (dance) and will compete in both cheer and dance.
- If your cheerleader is entering 6th , 7th , or 8th Grade this September, please register for Junior Varsity Cheer. Please note this team will also learn a second routine (sideline) and will compete in two categories.
